   Well, DPMI runs things at ring 3, which can be a bit slower than ring 
0 (I'm not sure if version 1 ran at ring 0 or not.).  However, I've been 
doing some graphics stuff using farptr.h and _farnspokeb() and it seems 
to be fast enough.
