Subject: Again: make-3.71 and WfW 3.11

Hi all,

perhaps some of you can remember my problem with DJGPP 1.12's
make-3.71 running under WfW 3.11 in a dos box. I installed
DJGPP on a 386DX40 with *no* FPU and 5 Megs Ram (yeah, I know
that this isn't state of the art :-)). Make works fine under
DOS but immediately crashes when run in a Windows dox box.
Starting make from the debugger doesn't make a difference, nor
any changes to the swap file size, disk access mode (16/32 bit)
etc.

To check if I made something wrong, I installed the whole stuff
(V 1.12 plus maintenance 1-4) on a 486DX66-2. Perfect. No problems.
Then I re-installed everything on the 386 again, and: same result
as with the first installation. Make-3.71 keeps crashing.

The significant differences between the two boxes are
- the 386 has (obviously) no FPU (tried both EMU387=yes and EMU387=no)
- the 486 has no network stuff installed.

So what is the real problem ? Any ideas, suggestions etc. ?

Thanks in advance,
Andy
