catch the keyboard interrupt 0x9 and you will find the scancode in AX. If 
I remember right this interrupt is for make and break. There is another 
interrupt (try looking at int 0x9 in an interrupt list like RB's) which 
int 0x9 calls for each key, though I can't remember this off the top of 
my head. If you want I can look it up when I get home.
