there are many many of these... read them.

have you taken a look at gcc on another host ever? There are many files
and many executables that are necessary. That's just the way it works.
DJGPP is meant for porting UNIX apps and providing a 32bit C compiler
for DOS.

If you don't care to twiddle, then you don't want GCC.

I still don't see where you are getting 3000 files... you didn't perchance
unzip all the source files did you? 8-)
