Forget about the 387 for the moment: it's NOT the cause of what you report.
About the only DJGPP program I know which requires a co-processor is Sed.
Neither GCC nor go32 doesn't need floating point.  The first and the most
important problem you should take care of is the lack of XMS memory which
is reported by go32.  Until then, no DJGPP program will ever run for you.
