DJGPP supports response files as one of the methods of supplying long
command lines to programs.  The way you supply the name of the response
file (which holds the command line arguments) makes the `@' character
special.  If you have to use it verbatim, you must escape it.  This is
explained in the DJGPP FAQ list:
 
16.5  Q: How do I pass an argument which begins with the `@' character?
      A: Surround that argument with single or double quotes.
