  Hi

  I am trying to use gdb  that is available with the djgpp compiler
  to debug an embedded i386 target via the serial port.

  Has any one tried this before ?.  It is not clear how I should
  specify the dev in " target remote dev " command.

  Another option I have is to use linux. But linux gdb does not recognize
  the a.out created using djgpp. This means I might have to build
  under linux .

  Any one has any suggestions or ideas. I would prefer to work in the 
  dos environment.
