I forgot to mention that pre-v4.x SmartDrive was indeed smartdrv.sys,
so smartdrv /s won't work there.  If you have the .sys variety, then
the IOCTL interface will work.  IBM DOS 5.x should be roughly
equivalent to MS-DOS 4.x, where SmartDrv was also .sys.  I think IBM
put the same SmartDrv.sys as Microsoft, at least functionally, but I
can't be sure as I never worked under IBM PC-DOS.
