Subject:	question about interrupts

I'm working on a device driver for a new PCI board. So I downloaded the
Sound Blaster support package to get ideas about how to program the
interrupts. 

Well, I have a simple question. Why would the Sound Blaster support package
call the same interrupt service routine from both protected mode and
real mode?

I'm not on the list so if you could respond directly.

ps: One last thing! This environment beats the DOS programming environment
hands down. I'm finding it much easier to get work done than before.
