The absolutely correct quote is "The provided graphics libraries don't
support non-dpmi mode" I suppose.  If you run in dpmi modes, you can
use the DPMI API functions (int 0x31) and <sys/farptr.h> to access the
video frame buffer yourself to do graphics.  This is what the next
version of grx will do.
