Hi, everyone. I'm very new here, and normally I'd just lurk in the corner
for a while to get the hang of things here, but I have a very frustrating
situation on my hands. I am looking for a way to produce a demonstration
version of a large application that my company produces. The demo needs
to run on our salesman's DOS-based laptop. I have the SCO Unix (3.2v4.2l)
source code for the entire application, including our third-party
database management library. The problem is that neither the DOS nor SCO
versions of the source code for the database manager will compile under
djgpp. The DOS version will compile under MSC6.00 without any problems.
I hope that this is enough background and that you're all still with me. ;-)

Now, the problem is that I don't understand how to convert the .obj files
to COFF files. The copy of DJGPP.FAQ (Section 17: line ~1560) that I have
mentions something about using the Librarian from MSC version 8(==Visual
C/C++ 1.0 ???) to do the conversion. I own MSC7 and Visual C/C++ 1.0, and I
can't discover what black magic I need to invoke to cause this change to
occur. If anyone can give me an idea of where to find this information,
or how to do it, I will be extremely grateful. (I have RTFM on all of the
MSC stuff I have, all 60 pounds of documentation, and tried archie and
veronica for other info.)

Once Again, any help that you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I
will gladly summarize any private e-mail I get on the subject, if there
is interest, and I will be following the list religiously. Thank you.
