I think what you do is to send mail to listserv AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu with the
message body reading
  unsubscribe djgpp
If you get back a message saying that you were not subscribed, it may mean
that your mail seems to come from a different address than the one you
subscribed from.  For example, the From: field of the mail you sent me says
lai AT gate DOT net, but in the Message Id field, I see ...@seminole.gate.net.  In
that case, you can include the userid in the unsubscription request:
  unsubscribe djgpp userid
In fact, anyone can unsubscribe anyone else, but the listserver does send a
confirmation to the id which was removed.
