V2.0 is in development.  It will be released when it is done, hopefully
sometime in a few months (it keeps slipping...).  It has quite a few
new features and a completely rewritten libc.  It should be smaller and
faster, more consistent, etc.  It keeps coming up as a list topic to
warn people not to do things which are considered "obsolete" and 
have problems when those features are not available in V2.
