How much faster?  Do you have time measurements?  The program
I've run in both BCC and GCC was run on a 486DX2-66, so it just
might be that the difference was inperceptible.  But it also
can be that what you see is due to the larger Int 10h overhead
in 1.1x under DPMI, as Charles Sandmann explained.  Most programs
which do text-mode screen writes also do cursor positioning,
and the functions wherex(), wherey() and some others used in
this context call Int 10h.  Does your program use those?
