Subject: Which compilers will run under (djgpp) GNU make?

I'm working on project that requires Watcom C. I was doing fine
running Watcom v10.0 under DJ's GNU make (both 3.59 and 3.71 - numbers
may be wrong) but now v10.0a hangs the machine when make tries to run
it. Working in the IDE (or with Watcom's goofy make) is not a happy
thought. Has anyone else had any success running a commercial
compiler under GNU make? I know Borland 3.1 wouldn't run, how 'bout
4.0? Is there an alternate, Unix-compatible, make utility that might
run the Watcom compiler? I've looked at DMAKE - it seems a bit too
different; and NDMAKE - I had a problem configuring it. Both of them
ate a lot of DOS memory.

Any suggestions?
