What I'm wondering here is that maybe GCC was built on a machine that 
had a math-coprocessor, either builtin or external. This may cause 
the newly built version of GCC to use FPU instructions, and hence 
cause your problems.

I'm not sure whether there is an easy way to resolve the problem. I 
suggest getting the original DJGPP files from 
oak.oakland.edu:/pub/msdos/djgpp and use the GCC.EXE that comes with 
the distribution.
