I have managed to (more or less) build Perl 5.000 under djgpp.  I can upload
the modified files if you want [I didn't keep the originals, so diffs might
be slightly "diff"icult], but first I would like to provide a caveat or two:
* The modifications are wholly mine, so none of Darryl Okahata (sp?)'s
enhancements exist.  There are therefore probably too many unixisms left in
the code.
* Although the regression tests mostly pass, the SDBM one (using the included
SDBM) doesn't work as well as it should.

Frankly, Darryl's version is probably more suitable for most purposes, but I
haven't yet gotten his port of Perl5 [because I got the original sources
before I heard of his latest port, and I heard that that port was not quite
ready for primetime] and just wanted to let you know in case you were
interested.
