Or you could use MASM 6.11 from Microsauce and have it produce COFF 
object files which are compatible with DJGPP. The advantage, of course, 
is being able to code in Intel mnemonics if that's what you're 
comfortable with. On the other hand, it's commercial software, therefore 
not free!
