It should not be nessesary to set asside memory availeble for EMS/VCPI 
usage only. EMM386 present in dos 6.x is able to share XMS/EMS memory. 
The memory starts of being XMS and is converted for EMS/VCPI usage when 
required and put back to XMS when released.

I'am pretty sure I have seen some explanation of this in MS-DOS 
help.exe with topic <emm386.exe> under notes.
