  You can use freopen () to redirect both stdout and stderr to a file:
FILE *logfile;

logfile = freopen ("myfile.log", "w", stdout);
if (!logfile)
  exit (1);
logfile = freopen ("myfile.log", "w+", stderr);
if (!logfile)
  exit (1);
