Subject: Would the real bnu22bn.zip please stand up?
To: DJGPP Mailing List <djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu>

Hello,

[my problem was that DJGPP called crt0.o a "malformed input file" for no
apparent reason.]

I'm much impressed with the lots of friendly advice I received in *no
time* (on the same day, actually) with regard to my question. Thanks!!

The solution was that I had to use a newer variant of bnu22bn.zip,
appropriately named bnu22bn.zip (yes, I know it's the *same* name :-)).
It's easy to tell from the older one, as it's much fatter (565,066 bytes)...

Nevertheless I hereby humbly move that henceforth all varieties of
a given file, so long and inasmuch as they are bearing the same name,
be painted in conspicuously different colours so that their telling
apart may be faciliated for the novice.

[Yes, I know that such doings insult the true guru; after all
"real programmers do it with copy con: program.exe" (E. Brodsky)
And of course DOS *should* permit longer filenames... :-) ]

Thanks again to all who responded so quickly!

Best regards,
MArtin
