Subject: using viper PCI graphics card

Hello,

I am having problems doing some very simple SVGA graphics with my Diamond Viper
PCI video card. I am using version 3.01 of the installation diskette, which
has version 2.02 of vprmode.exe.

The VGA mode 320x200x256 works fine. My intent is to use 640x480x256. Whenever
I enter that mode, if am using VIPER.GRN found in the GRX graphics package, text
output produces garbage always in the top 1/4 of the screen, and all graphics
goes the the same top fraction of the screen. If I use any other go32 graphics
driver, either the mode is not entered, or the output is a smear of wrong colors.

If I try doing the same program in Microsoft C++, the text behavior is the sme,
but the graphics output works fine (uses entire screen).

Has anyone successfully used a Viper card with djgpp, or however, for that matter?
Can anyone comment on both the text problem, and the screen limiting behv
behavior I am getting?

Thank you,

Peter Jones
