Perhaps a VESA driver would work better?  The author of the DISP package
seems to be working on a VESA driver.  The last version I tried (with a
different chipset) worked under DOS but not under OS/2.  Try (I think) the
pub/disp/beta directory at NCTUCCCA.edu.tw.
