I have installed Novell DOS 7.0 on my 486. It really has some multitasking 
capabilities, which simply means that you can run DOS programs concurrently
in the background and in the foreground (e.g. you can format a disk in the 
background while working in the foreground.
But I had no luck with DJGPP AND multitasking. When I used DJGPP to compile or
run DJGPP compiled programs in the foreground they worked just fine, but my
machine hung when I tried to switch it to the background, so I went back to good
old DOS 5.0.
