Subj: Accessing real memory above 1 MB
Hallo list,
we have a localbus card with a local memory buffer of 8 MB. This is
mapped somewhere into the extended address range of the 386. Now
we want to access this buffer from a GO32 program.
This should work out like e.g. the graphics memory, which is mapped
to some adress. No paging is neccessary, cause we have a linear address
range.
If I remember well, this problem has been discussed some time ago for
SVGA cards which can map their memory above 1 MB.
Has someone done this before, or can someone give us pointers (DJ ???)
what to change in the extender ?
All help appreciated, I~ll summarize to the list .
Please reply by e-mail.
