Subject: program crashes compiled without -O runs with -O

A simple program which display material in various fonts and delays using
DJGPP 1.10x (the one that works with LIBGRX) which I had been always compiling
(by habit) with -O, I one day decided to compile without -O, as runtime delays
hardly require optimization. It crashed before getting into graphics mode
(GO32 was set to use stdvga.grn on SX386/387). Recompiling with -O all is fine.
I didn't note the traceback or attempt to track the error, just added -O back.

I'm writing this more as a caveat than a query, as it is only idle curiousity
that prompts me to ask if anyone else has experienced such - and to note that
-O may be a cure for some problem (involving assumptions about registers?).
