I'm pretty sure that what you're looking for exists, but I forget
where I saw the references.  I don't need it myself....
    If you have access to the source for ARITHMOS, you could try using
the f2c converter, then writing a C++ wrapper around it so that you
could do interval arithmetic just like you would do scalar arithmetic.
