I was asked for the result of the running
gcc -v hello.c -o hello

Q:\GNUCC>gcc -v hello.c -o hello

Reading specs from u:/lib/specs

gcc version 2.4.1

 u:/bin/cpp.exe -lang-c -v -undef -D__GNUC__=2 -Dunix -Di386
-D__unix__ -D__i386
__ -D__unix -D__i386 -D__GO32__ -D__MSDOS__ -DGO32 -DMSDOS -noprecomp
hello.c d:
/cc000060

GNU CPP version 2.4.1 (80386, BSD syntax)

 u:/bin/cc1.exe d:/cc000060 -quiet -dumpbase hello.c -version -o
d:/cca00060
GNU C version 2.4.1 (80386, BSD syntax) compiled by GNU C version
2.4.1.
 u:/bin/as -o d:/ccb00060 d:/cca00060

At that point the computer froze and had to be switched off and on.

John
