Hello,
I`ve just uploaded to omnigate.clarkson.edu in /pub/msdos/djgpp/pub :
texi31bn.zip (dated 19. July 1993)
texi31sr.zip (dated 19. July 1993)
These two are a new version of my port of texinfo-3.1 to DJGPP. Please note
that the only visible difference is in the files` dates, not in their names,
as I haven`t changed the filenames from the first to this version of the
patch.
The new version has the following new features:
* First of all, I`ve done a new coding of the terminal-output-routines, so they
don`t need the TERMCAP-library any more. I`ve switched over to direct screen-
I/O (routines prototyped in <pc.h> and <gppconio.h>
* I`ve also found time to make up a bit more of something like documentation for
my own keymapping, so I hope users will now be able to understand it without
need of guessing (;-)
* I`ve included an example of a `dir'-file to be put in the info-directory as
head of the info-tree
* For this `dir`, there now exists a better-editable `source-text`, `dir.txi`,
which can be edited without taking care of CR/LF`s, FF`s and C-_`s (you`ll
know what these are if you ever tried to edit `dir` without emacs.)
* while `info' itself still can`t read DOS-style-text-files (probably
impossible due to absolute file-positioning by TAGS), you can now create
Unix-text-style info-files from DOS-style-texinfo-files (easily created by
accident when editing the texinfos) using my version of `makeinfo`.
Some additional information:
The texi31bn.zip is an almost-binary-only distribution, it contains only a
`diffs` for people who like running patches themselves. It *doesn`t* contain
any of the texinfos enclosed in the original sources. If you want these, you'll
have to download texi31sr.zip as well (drop me a note, if you think I should
make up a texi31dc.zip containing the texinfos, or perhaps do it yourself 8-)
