I have used djgpp 1.10 under OS/2, with no obvious problems.  Previous
versions will not work.  Direct access to the lower 1MB, including screen
memory, is less convenient when using DPMI, which is what you get under OS/2
and Windows.  You have to use DOS calls and take a performance hit, or
assembly language.  (There are some routines included in the package to make
it easier.)
