Subject: Thank you and further...

Thanks to everyone who responded [esp to J Horigan for his driver for the
Western Digital chipset!]...

A question has come up in our development group; while running a version of
our number-crunching intensive [image convolutions, if you'd like to know]
code on previously mentioned dell 486/50, we get a character block in the
upper left corner of the text screen. The character changes "upward" thru
the pc character set & coulourtable. Has anyone seen this before; does it
indicated I've done something boneheaded?

The code "works" on a DEC 5000, so the compiler [specifically, my
installation thereof] has been questioned... any pointers would be GREATLY
appreciated...
