Hi!

Trying to unzip some files from omnigate, I get the following
error messages:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
djdev110.zip:

error: missing 389 bytes in zipfile (attempting to process anyway)

error: attempt to seek before beginning of zipfile
(please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled unzip properly)
file #1: bad zipfile offset (can't find local header sig)
file #2: bad zipfile offset (can't find local header sig)
  Exploding: bin/diff.exe
  Exploding: bin/djtart.exe
  Exploding: bin/djtarx.exe
  ...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
gcc241bn.zip:

error: missing 139455 bytes in zipfile (attempting to process anyway)

error: attempt to seek before beginning of zipfile
(please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled unzip properly)

file #2: bad zipfile offset (can't find local header sig)
  Exploding: bin/cpp.exe
  Exploding: bin/gcc.exe
  Exploding: diffs/gcc-241/config/i386/go32.h
  ...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had obtained them by the DEC ftpmailer as usual (setting binary
mode correctly), unzip 5.0 works perfectly for other zip files,
PKUNZIP 2.04 yields the same results.

gas211bn.zip is extracted correctly.

So there are 2 alternatives: the files are not handled correctly
by the ftpmailer, or the files are really corrupt. The former
seems unprobable because I have no problems with files from other
hosts, the latter seems unprobable because many people should
have noticed it also.

Can somebody imagine what is going wrong?

Martin
