Subject:	gcc and Novell

I have gcc running on a Novell network:

Novell 3.11, gcc 2.2.2, go32 1.09, MS-DOS 5, 4DOS 4.01

Problem: when I compile a source file that is on the network, gcc
attempts to create a temporary file (I think) in the root directory of
the network drive.  Of course, I do not have rights to this directory
(and would not want to give myself rights in case I did something
stupid), so how can I force gcc to write all temporary files onto my
local hard drive (C:)?

BTW, when I compile a source file that is on C:, there is no problem,
even with gcc running from the network drive.  I guess the temporary
file is being written to C:\ in this case.

If anyone needs more details, please email and I'll do my best to get
some more info.
