Yes, possibly. On my system(486DX), your test program hanged my system without
giving any message. (Control-C was the only way to return to dos.) 

I have a few experiences of system hanging, during compilation or during 
program executions....  I hope these problems be fixed in the next release of 
djgpp/gcc.
