I have the same problem.  I believe that the only solution would be to modify
GO32 to intercept critical errors.  There would also have to be a way for
GO32 to tell the program when an error occurred.  One question I have is
whether critical errors can arise while you are in protected mode, or whether
they can only happen in real mode.
