>I'm under the impression Heinlein first used this in his novel

>but I believe the correct acronym is TNSTAAFL; Heinlein having

It is grammatically correct (or at least it is both good and common
usage) to violate grammer rules for emphasis. Anyway, "There Ain't No
Such Thing As a Free Lunch" is TANSTAAFL, "There Is No Such Thing As A
Free Lunch" would be TINSTAAFL, not TNSTAAFL.

P.S.

Can we drop this now? Anyway, it isn't original with Heinlein, it
comes out of the lore and legend of economics.
