   Hi,

   I made the modification Makoto Kobayashi suggested and recompiled
   gcc.exe and everything seems to work fine. Thanks to Makoto for his
   advice. I also made a real mode version of the driver with bcc 3.0 (it
   is in the file djg16233.zip).


This is certainly exciting for me. I loved much improved
template support in gcc 2.3.3. Be warned that even in
2.3.3, the template support is not complete yet. In particular,
you have to #include all your template class definitions into
your source code. Otherwise, linker will fail.
