Subject: | yet another question about gcc-2.3.3 |
The gcc 2.3.X problem is that gcc *generates* temp files with names that are not unique in eight characters. I suggested to the gcc people that they use a subdir in /tmp instead of extending the filenames, giving effectively 16 characters of file name and also keeping all the files together. I'll probably end up providing the diffs myself, and I just don't have time at the moment.
