Is anyone working on making djgpp consistent with the _latest_ version of gcc?
That would be 2.3.3.

Is anyone working on making djgpp consistent with the _latest version of gas?
That would be 1.38.1.

If you think these projects would be a waste of time I'd like your thoughts
also.

Silly! Of course it's implemented, cousin!

The -m486 switch is part of cc1 and cc1plus, and therefore is
implemented in all versions of gcc for the Intel CPUs. You should
use it with caution, though: code _may_ run at a signigicant 
performance penalty on a 386.
