gcc-2.3.3 supports the machine dependent switches
-m486 
-ffast-math
-mieee-fp

I don't know though whether gcc-2.2.2 (djgpp 1.09 ?) supports all these
switches.

-ffast-math does in-lining of fsin instructions rather than calling
call _sin which may speedup code which uses lot of trig functions.
