Subject: Operating Systems

I realize this isn't the proper forum for this question, but it is more
interesting than subscribe/unsubscribe messages...

I am interested in gathering opinions from REAL programmers (not magazine
editors) about a variety of operating systems and tools... I have programmed
in DOSland for many years, primarily with the Borland C/C++ tools so I have
already formed my own prejudices about them.

I specifically want information about dealing with large (1Mb+) arrays of data
in Windows 3.x (any toolset), OS/2 (IBM tools, GNU C++), and DesqView/X...

Have the problems with the serial port with DesqView/X been resolved?

Please reply directly to me. If enough interest is generated, I will summarize
and post the results...

Thanks
clint
