I was about to ask something similar, but I can at least fill you in
some more.

TexInfo format can be viewed directly in 'info' mode using gnu emacs. A
port to DOS (if I recall correctly, it is compiled with djgpp) is available
from simtel-20 as "demacs". It works fine, and is a good editor in it's
own right if you like that type of thing.

Secondly, if you want hardcopy, you can obtain the full TeX for the PC,
again from Simtel-20 or one of the many mirror sites.

However, there is a stand-alone hyertext shell called simply 'info'
which emulates (d)emacs which is great for viewing texinfo files without
having to bother using or wasting disk space on demacs if that's the
only thing you would use it for. However, I've not come across a
dos port of it as yet, although an OS/2 port is available with emx.
I looked at porting it to djgpp a week or so ago, but found that it
uses termcap rather than curses and figured it would take more time than
i have available right now (unless someone has a termcap library handy
for djgpp??).

The short answer is that obtaining demacs would probably be the best
thing to do if you need something right now.
