Subject: GCC crashes DV/X

From: Scott Raney <raney AT metacard DOT com>

Running gcc (2.2.2) in a DOS window under DESQview/X frequently
causes the system to lock up. We haven't narrowed it down to a
minimal sequence, but moving or sizing a window while gcc is running
in a second window always seems to cause the problem, whereas running
gcc in a single window seems to work OK.
     Anyone seen this?
       Scott

I suggest you open the memory status monitor supplied by QuarterDeck.
It will tell you how much memory left. I am running Motif inside
DVX. I find DVX+ MOTIF uses more than 4 MB memory. Using djgpp under
one dos window and opening another dos window will use up almost all
my 8 Mb memory. At that point, resizing windows or just even moving
mouse causes my system to lock up.
