Editorial comment: I think "Can DJGPP run under Windows {tm} ?" could
well become the DJGPP mailing list equivalent of the stock line in
alt.folklore.urban, "Where does the word POSH come from?" (I.e., if you
really want to make yourself look like an idiot, go on over to AFU and
post this question, or better yet, post an answer...) (*)

It's not like DJ doesn't make it clear 18 ways from sundown in the
various READMEs that it don't work under Windoze...

Anyway, on another note, it don't work under OS/2 for the same reasons,
but I have been playing around with OS/2 just a bit the past few days,
and noted well that the OS/2 dox are full of notes to the effect that
you cannot run DOS extenders that require direct access to the control
registers of the 386 (I.e., access to ring 0), such as, our very own VCPI.
However, OS/2 *does* support access to memory via XMS. Since DJGPP was
recently (well, a few versions back...) modified to support XMS, one
almost wonders whether it could be trained to run under OS/2 in a pure
XMS mode...

(*) I assume the intersection of AFU readers and DJGPP mailing list
subscribers if pretty small. Maybe I'm the only one?
