> 1) What do I need from QuarterDeck?
required:
  DESQview/X
optional:
DESQview/X to other X systems (for connectivity over TCP/IP)
  DESQview/X X11 Starter Kit

> 2) Is the dvx library presently available from barnavcle.erc.clarkson.edu
> sufficient (latest version)?

The libraries on barnacle.erc.clarkson.edu are indeed the latest. The main
missing piece is documentation. I recommend the O'Reilly series for
information on X. A book on programming BSD 4.3 Sockets may also be useful.
The DESQview/X X11 Starter Kit ($50) from Quarterdeck includes X11 Roadmap
which describes socket, daemon, help, ATM and printing APIs. The Starter Kit
also comes the djgpp 1.08 and the X libraries.
