Is there a canonical place to check out the libiberty sources
or must I download the latest gcc or gdb or binutils archives
and extract them from there?
I have inspected the projects hosted at sourceware.org, at gnu.org
and at savannah.gnu.org, but libiberty is not available as independent
project.
