What is the situation with regard to incorporation of nmalloc in
2.04?  My health and other considerations make it fairly unlikely
that I will ever finish the large block aligned mechanism, although
I have made some inroads on it (not published).  As I understand it
this is only of use for efficiency reasons in gcc i/o.  What little
I have done on this shows that the main nmalloc system need not be
altered, but that the additions should be integral to nmalloc to
access the various static functions and #defines.
