The dates on the files in the cross directory are in 1996; so these files
apply to an early release (the first?) djcrx200 (or djcrx201?) - using 
gcc 2.7.2.  

The patch.lib contains a patch for the output format "naming" for the
binutils - I think this has all been fixed in recent binutils.

It may not apply any more for recent releases, but unless
someone does an in-depth review an understands what's changed, I'd 
prefer not to remove something which has some value to someone.

Research on the mailing list archives in the 1996 and earlier time frame
might give a hint.
