The uncompressed binary consistently wedges my system, but only if I
boot the optimized configuration with QEMM.  Plain vanilla DOS with no
memory manager seems to work.

Could someone else please test this?  If this happens only on my
machine, then I guess we can live with it...

To see if the problem exists, type the following from the DOS prompt:

       redir -x unzip ....

(put any valid unzip command line instead of the ellipsis), and see if
this works as expected.
