That's exactly the problem: by the time that someone gets to
understand this, the original sources of GDB 4.18 as you used them
might not be available anywhere.  For example, imagine that GDB
maintainers find some grave bug in the distribution and upload a
slightly different one.  Or perhaps too much time passes and v4.18 is
withdrawn from the GNU FTP site.  This did happen, you know.

You can always put all of the files into gdb418s.zip.  Or you could
leave gdb418s.zip as you made it now, and have gdb418s2.zip include
all the files, even those which already are in gdb418s.zip.
